4-Day 3-Night Tour
DAY 1: CITY TOUR
Reception at the airport, Transfer to our Boutique hotel.
Our first stop in our city tour is the Plaza de Armas of Iquitos (main square) where you will be able to see the Cathedral Church, declared in 1996 a National Historic Monument. A few meters away you will see La casa de Hierro (the iron house) built by Gustavo Eiffel who was the same architect that designed the Eiffel tower in Paris.
The next stop is the “El Malecon de Tarapaca” also known as The Boulevard, a colorful place full bars and restaurants as well as historical monuments and buildings of the rubber era.
The market of Belen is our next stop. You will find many kinds of fruits and medicinal plants. A short visit to the floating neighborhood also known as poor Venice.
Lunch at a Restaurant of your choice (not part of the tour package). We suggest the most emblematic and recognized restaurant in Iquitos named “Al frio y Al fuego”.
Return to our Boutique Hotel. Free night. Overnight stay at the boutique hotel.
DAY 2: AMAZON RIVER
After continental breakfast in the hotel restaurant, transfer to the Nanay River Port.
We will observe "the meeting of the waters", which is the union of the rivers Nanay and Amazonas. The Nanay river has its black waters and the Amazon River is brown, both go in parallel, but at no time do they mix.
One hour transfer in our Pamacari boat (typical boat of wood) from Nanay port to Selva Vida Lodge. Welcome drink, room distribution according to request. Buffet lunch.
During our afternoon excursion by boat we will visit a small animal rescue center where we will observe several animal species such as sloth bear, various species of monkeys, parrots, toucans, turtles, alligators, anacondas. Return to the Selva Vida Lodge for dinner.
Night excursion by boat on the Sinchicuy River, observation of insects, fireflies and enjoy the Amazonian symphony. Overnight.
DAY 3: DOLPHINS - YAGUA NATIVE COMMUNITY
An early morning jungle walk for bird watching and a ride on the Amazon river to observe the gray and pink dolphins. Return to the lodge for breakfast.
Visit the Yaguas tribe, a native tribe of this region in the Amazon. We will learn the use of the blowpipe, typical dances, and see their typical clothing. If you want to purchase a souvenir it will be very appreciated by our Yaguas friends who are skilled craftsmen. Return to the lodge for lunch.
Rustic fishing – a chance of fishing piranhas and catfish. Visit to the Lupuna (Giant Amazon tree). Return to Selva Vida Lodge for dinner. Overnight stay at the lodge.
DAY 4: TOUR WITH KAYAKS
Breakfast. Exclusive excursion in double kayak, observation of wild fauna and flora, birds, trees and epiphytic plants in the Sinchicuy river.
Return to the lodge for lunch.
Approximately 3 pm return to Iquitos city.
